There is currently no cure for fibromyalgia. The recommended treatment is designed to relieve symptoms and help the person maintain optimal functional capacity.
Ideal treatment should combine non-pharmacological and pharmacological therapies. Non-drug approaches should include at least one psychoeducational therapy and at least one physical activity.
The person with fibromyalgia should be actively involved in all aspects of treatment. Knowing their capabilities and adhering to the various treatments will have a positive impact on the course of their health.
